About this piece
An acrylic painting about a meeting in which words become unnecessary. At the centre of the composition is a woman in a pink dress, seated at a table. Beside her stand a glass and a large bouquet of bright flowers in a yellow vase. Behind her back are several stylised figures, as if watching what is happening. The bright flowers and the soft pink of the dress contrast with a deep dark background, creating a feeling of both a warm encounter and an inner distance. Textured brushwork, simplified forms and an expressive palette underline the naive, expressive character of the work. "Meeting Point" belongs to the "Trajectory" series, devoted to a person's movement through life, through relationships and through constantly changing surroundings. We meet people at different points of our path. Someone stays close, someone gradually disappears from our life, and someone goes on existing in memory. Behind every person a trajectory is drawn — a line that sometimes crosses ours and becomes shared for a while. In this work the meeting becomes a point of pause inside continuous movement. The woman at the table, the flowers and the figures around her are like different points of one story: the present, memories, chance encounters and the connections that shape us. "Trajectory" is a reflection on time, on choice, and on the people whose paths once crossed with ours.
