About this piece
"Point of Gravity" from the "Trajectory" series. An original acrylic painting that brings together contemporary figurative art, expressive colour and a quiet scene of everyday life. A person moves through life leaving behind invisible lines of meetings, memories and attachments. Some trajectories run alongside ours only for a moment; others continue for years, even when the distance between people becomes vast. "Point of Gravity" is about closeness that is not always measured in distance. Sometimes a person remains part of our inner trajectory, going on being present in us long after their own path has changed. The woman with the glass seems to have paused between the past and the present. Flowers surround her like traces of what she has lived through, and the cat becomes a quiet witness to the moment. The space of the painting resembles both a real place and a state of memory — somewhere the present is interwoven with what has already been. A point is not an ending. It is the place from which the line continues. "Point of Gravity" is about human connections that do not end where the meeting ends. About memory as a continuation of closeness, and about the invisible lines that tie us to those who were once on our trajectory.
