Both Are Like Shadows
A man and a woman are parts of one whole, so they say. There is also the familiar view that every person is a separate world, with their own thoughts, fears, dreams and hopes. How, then, can one picture the joining of two worlds — how to touch another world without losing your own?
The project uses more than fifty canvases of 30×40 cm. The composition has its own rhythms and structure: the puzzle pieces flow from one wall onto another and keep working as a single whole. It starts with echoes of the past, then the present — with its chaotic order, strict graphics and priorities. Then come the goals of the near future, confidence and clarity of conviction. And it all ends with the unknown future, which will meet us with its surprises and riddles.
The perfect abstract embodiment of human relationships, to me, is a jigsaw puzzle. You may put it together in a couple of minutes, or rack your brains for a month and still not arrive at a whole picture. Of course you can glue all the pieces together. But I have yet to see happiness that could be glued.
